I really like getting my teeth into an Outside Broadcast. Whether its an OB from a large museum, a hospital or an awards ceremony at the Palladium, I really enjoy being an Outside Broadcast Lighting Director.
A selection of Outside Broadcasts that I have lit include the Mobo awards 2017, The One show (Eusrovision), Crimewatch, Songs of Praise (over 80 to date), The Christmas Lectures from The Royal Institute of Great Britain (for the past 13 years), The Final debate (Channel 4’s EU referndum debate) from Troxy, Varous Children in need transmissions, Loose Women from the old coronation street set, Dick and Doms Hoopla from the Dingles heitage fairground museum, Gareth Malone’s “The Choir” from Central Westminster Hall and Breaking the Silence Live from Manchester Royal Infirmary for Channel 4.
Songs of Praise, for the past 7 years I have been the LD for Songs of Praise. Over 100 Outside broadcasts later I have lit locations such as Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, Glasgow Cathedral, Salisbury Cathedral, Winchester Cathedral, Gorton Monastery, Llandaff Cathedral and Pershore abbey.
